Unlock the Full Power of Your Points and Miles: Introducing the Latest Pointrs Features
If you’ve been part of the Pointrs community for a while, you know our mantra by heart: Earn More. Spend Less. Travel Better.
We founded Pointrs to demystify the complex world of airline loyalty programs and credit card rewards. We wanted to stop people from overpaying for flights and show you how to turn everyday spending—from your morning flat white to your grocery shop—into Business and First Class seats.
But we also know that the "points game" can sometimes feel like a high school maths exam. You have 50,000 Qantas points here, 20,000 Velocity miles there, and a transfer bonus sitting in your Amex account. Trying to figure out if you actually have enough to book that dream holiday to Europe or Japan often involves spreadsheets, multiple browser tabs, and a calculator.
Until now.
We are incredibly excited to announce a massive update to the Pointrs website—a suite of features designed to do the heavy lifting for you. We have transformed Pointrs from a discovery tool into a personalised travel wallet that knows exactly what you have and tells you exactly what you can afford.
Here is everything you need to know about the new features available right now for our logged-in subscribers.
1. Add Your Own Points & Miles to Your Cards and Programs
The foundation of this update is simple but powerful: Context.
Previously, you could tell us which cards and programs you held. Now, under the updated “Card & Program Choices” section in your profile, you can manually enter your current points and miles balances for each of your loyalty programs and credit cards.
Why is this a big deal? Because a generic deal isn't a "deal" if you don't have the currency to pay for it. By inputting your balances, you are teaching the Pointrs engine to look at the world of travel through your financial lens. You aren't just seeing what is possible for anyone; you are seeing what is possible for you.

This is especially powerful for travellers juggling multiple programs like:
-
Qantas Frequent Flyer
-
Velocity Frequent Flyer
-
KrisFlyer
-
Membership Rewards
-
Hilton Honors
-
Marriott Bonvoy
…and dozens more.
From now on, your Pointrs experience reflects your real rewards potential.
2. Smart Filters to Show Only the Flights You Can Actually Book
We know that seeing a flight deal for 80,000 miles is frustrating if those miles are in a program you don't belong to. With your balances updated, we have introduced dynamic filtering to our Flights search.
You can now toggle between three powerful views:
-
Show All: See every opportunity available across the board to see what's possible.
-
Show Only Using Your Cards & Programs: This filters out the noise. If you don't have a specific bank card or airline programs, you won't see them.
-
Show Only Using Your Cards & Programs Points/Miles: This is the "Ready to Book" filter. It shows you flights where you not only have the right cards but currently hold the currency to make it happen.

If a flight isn’t possible with your points and programs, the platform will clearly display:
No flights.
No more scrolling through flights that aren’t applicable. You now get a personalised shortlist of options based on what you are actually able to book.
3. Earn Points/Miles View Now Matches Your Filters
This is the feature we are most proud of. It solves the biggest pain point in travel hacking: The Points/Mile Calculation.
When you click Earn Points/Miles, Pointrs now shows information relevant only to the loyalty programs and pathways you actually use.
No more long lists of irrelevant card issuers, programs you don’t belong to or transfer partners you don’t have access to.
Only clear, actionable earning and transfer paths.
4. Immediately Know What You Can Book
This might be our favourite addition.
Now, when you view how to earn miles for a specific flight, you’ll see a personalised summary like:
Based on your cards & programs balances, you have earned 81.95% of the points required—not enough to book this flight.
OR…
Based on your cards & programs balances, you have earned 148.01% of the required points—enough to book this flight.
And below it, a breakdown like:
-
Earn Through Malaysia Airlines Enrich: You have 5,120 points (53.89%)
-
Transfer From AMEX Membership Rewards: You have 16,250 points (85.53%)
-
Transfer From Hilton Honors: You have 6,800 points (8.59%)
This isn’t just information—it’s a travel action plan.

Pointrs now tells you:
-
Whether you can book the flight now
-
Whether you need to top up points
-
And exactly where that top-up can come from
For anyone who wants to travel sooner—not later—this feature is a game-changer.
5. New Spend Less Filters for Pointrs Deals
To make your search even easier, we’ve added a brand-new filter category under Spend Less Pointrs:
-
Pointrs You Can Book Using All Cards & Programs
-
Pointrs You Can Book Using Only Your Cards & Programs
-
Pointrs You Can Book Using Only Your Cards & Programs Points/Miles

These filters also connect to the flights filter, ensuring the system only shows you deals you can act on.
No noise. Just value.
Combining Pointrs with Pointrs Travel
While these new features revolutionise how you use your points, we know that sometimes, cash is king. Maybe you're saving your points for a long-haul Business Class flight to London, or maybe you just want a quick weekend getaway to the Gold Coast where burning points doesn't make sense.
This is where the synergy between Pointrs and Pointrs Travel shines.
- Pointrs (The Strategy): This is your headquarters for high-value redemptions. It’s where you use the new features above to leverage your loyalty programs for maximum return on investment. It’s about flying First Class for the price of Economy.
- Pointrs Travel (The Savings): This is our exclusive booking platform for everything else. Pointrs Travel allows subscribers to save up to 50% on hotels and activities worldwide. We are talking about wholesale rates that aren't available to the general public on standard booking sites.
How to Use Them Together: Imagine you use the new Pointrs filters to find a Business Class flight using your Amex points (which you now know you have enough of, thanks to our new calculator!). You’ve saved thousands on the flight.
Now, switch over to Pointrs Travel. Since you saved cash on the flight, you can book a luxury hotel through our portal. Because you are a subscriber, you might pay $300 a night for a room that is retailing for $550 on other major travel sites.
By combining the Earn/Burn precision of the new Pointrs features with the wholesale cash savings of Pointrs Travel, you are attacking the cost of travel from both sides. You aren't just a tourist anymore; you are a strategic traveller.
